Upon your arrival at Hotel Rangá, you will find two beautifully handcrafted Gilbert watches in your room. JS Watch Co.—Iceland’s first and only watch manufacturer—makes these luxury watches under the leadership of master watchmaker Gilbert O. Gudjonsson. Every timepiece is designed and assembled by hand in the company’s workshop in Reykjavík.
The Gilbert watch is named after the master watchmaker himself, Gilbert O. Gudjonsson. With over 50 years of experience, Gilbert has seen styles change and evolve over the years. His favorite timepieces date from the 1950’s and 60’s, and the Gilbert vintage watch is inspired by styles of this era. Each watch features a Swiss made mechanical movement “Execution Top,” custom decorations, 25 jewels, blue screws and a rhodium plated finish. Produced in limited quantities and assembled by hand, these beautiful watches are truly one of a kind.

At Hotel Rangá, we have our one of a kind Rangá Observatory that houses two high-tech telescopes.
