We are passionate about highlighting Icelandic artwork and our hotel is full of beautiful pieces by local artists. You will find a wide variety of paintings and drawings throughout the premises – some even painted directly on our walls. Our suites also feature handcrafted furniture and artwork from around the globe. We work directly with experts to source authentic designs so that our guests find themselves instantly transported to another continent.
Wall Paintings
Almost all of our hotel rooms are decorated with murals inspired by Iceland – from galloping horses, to sleepy sheep, to beautiful purple lupine, to scenes from the Icelandic sagas. These paintings were made by local Icelandic artists who were each given free reign to create a special piece of art directly on the hotel’s walls. The result is an in-house art gallery; each wall painting is totally unique and stunning in its own way.
