Play some pool
Get some practice in on your own or shoot a round of pool with a partner. Our game room, which features a large light fixture made of reindeer antlers is a frequent site for wedding ceremonies and has a gorgeous view of the river.
Checkmate
Our game room also has a chess set, meaning you can challenge your travel companion to a battle of wits. Have a cup of coffee or hot chocolate while you strategize on how to circumvent the queen slay your opponent’s king.
Piece it together
If you are in the mood for something less competitive you can grab a chair and do a jigsaw puzzle. There’s often a large one already going in the game room – you can contribute to it, finish it yourself or maybe even start a different one. Puzzles are a perfect way to enjoy a relaxed summer vacation in Iceland.

Grab a cocktail
In our lounge, every hour is cocktail hour. Stick to the classics or try something new like a cocktail with Iceland’s signature spirit, Brennivín. Get one sent to your room as you get ready for dinner or to the hot tub as you soak in the day.
Read a good book
There are lots of comfortable quiet places around the hotel to spend the day diving into a good mystery novel or that biography you’ve been meaning to read. We especially recommend the couches in our upstairs lounge. If you are too lost in the pages to move, our staff will happily bring you snacks, drinks, and food from our menu.

Walk along the river
If you feel like getting some air but want to stay close to the comfort of our premises, you can take a leisurely stroll by the Rangá river. It’s one of Iceland’s top rivers for salmon fishing and boasts beautiful flora and fauna during the summer.
