The Full Monty Helicopter Tour

This epic 8 hour tour takes you to see the most beautiful sights in south Iceland. That’s right–this tour really is the full monty! Soar over the glacier-volcano Eyjafjallajökull and view the famous Fimmvörðuháls trail from above. Visit the beloved Þórsmörk Nature Reserve and see the colorful rhyolite mountains in Landmannalaugar.  Go up into the Icelandic highlands to see Hrafntinnusker mountain and the Laki craters. Fly over volcanoes like Hekla and Katla. And who can forget about the Golden Circle? See Gullfoss Waterfall, Geysir and Þingvellir National Park. You will also fly over Dyrhólaey, Kirkjubæjarklaustur, Lómagnúpur, Skaftafell, Hvannadalshnjúkur, Jökulsárlón, Höfn, Vatnajökull and Grímsvötn–to name a few! This helicopter tour includes several landings including a break for lunch.  Note: Pick up is possible directly from Hotel Rangá at additional cost.

What To Bring

  • If your tour includes a landing, as some of our helicopter tours do, we suggest that you wear warm layered clothing since the wind can be cold, even though it is a sunny summer day.
  • From October to mid-April we recommend winter clothing.
  • Good closed, waterproof shoes are highly recommended unless you want to get your feet wet or take the chance of falling on the rough volcanic terrain we often land on.
  • During winter and on glacier landing tours it is especially important to wear good shoes since you’ll be walking on the snow.
  • Sitting in our aircraft itself is not cold, it is similar to sitting in a car, so if your tour does not include a landing, a light jacket should be sufficient.
