Experience Iceland´s southern coastline, with epic waterfalls and stunning glaciers. Visit the iconic Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls and the striking Dyrhólaey headland with it´s coastal cliffs, contrasted by the black sand beach of Reynisfjara.
This tour includes a walk on the Sólheimajökull Glacier, part of the Mýrdalsjökull ice cap. A 15-20 minute walk brings you through a changing landscape shaped by the glacier over thousands of years. See firsthand how much the glacier has melted in the past 15 years. After a safety briefing and ice-walking lesson, you’ll explore the glacier’s crevasses, sinkholes, and ice ridges. Sólheimajökull, the southernmost glacier in Iceland, the thickness of the ice is approximately 200 meters.
The glacier walk requires no special skills and is suitable for those in good health (minimum age 10). All gear, including crampons, helmet, and harness, is provided. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes and warm clothing, as it can be cold on the glacier even on sunny days.
