Glacier Landing Helicopter Tour
This 75 – 95 minute tour includes an epic glacier landing. After flying over the city of Reykjavík, your pilot will land atop Þórisjökull glacier, just next to Langjökull glacier. Stand atop the snowy glacier and experience breathtaking views of the Icelandic interior. Next, you will fly over the shield volcano Skjaldbreiður and its ancient crater.
From there, your pilot will soar above Þingvellir National Park. This beautiful park is filled with interesting Icelandic history. In fact, one of the world’s oldest parliaments first met here in AD930. Þingvellir is also located directly on the Mid-Atlantic Rift. This unique area is especially fascinating to see from above–you will be flying directly between Europe and North America.

What To Bring
- If your tour includes a landing, as some of our helicopter tours do, we suggest that you wear warm layered clothing since the wind can be cold, even though it is a sunny summer day.
- From October to mid-April we recommend winter clothing.
- Good closed, waterproof shoes are highly recommended unless you want to get your feet wet or take the chance of falling on the rough volcanic terrain we often land on.
- During winter and on glacier landing tours it is especially important to wear good shoes since you’ll be walking on the snow.
- Sitting in our aircraft itself is not cold, it is similar to sitting in a car, so if your tour does not include a landing, a light jacket should be sufficient.
