Essential Iceland Helicopter Tour
A helicopter tour is a great way to experience the Icelandic landscape from above. This half-day tour takes you to some of south Iceland’s most well-known sights as well as hidden gems. First, you will fly over the famous Golden Circle including Þingvellir National Park and Geysir geothermal area. Be sure to look out for Geysir’s regular geothermal eruptions that shoot water high into the air.
Next, you will fly over Landmannalaugar in the Icelandic highlands. This beautiful area is filled with colorful rhyolite mountains and lots of geothermal activity. Other sights include Þórsmörk Nature Reserve, Eyjafjallajökull glacier volcano and Háifoss waterfall. In total, the tour is 3 – 4 hours with two 15 – 20 minute landings.

What To Bring
- If your tour includes a landing, as some of our helicopter tours do, we suggest that you wear warm layered clothing since the wind can be cold, even though it is a sunny summer day.
- From October to mid-April we recommend winter clothing.
- Good closed, waterproof shoes are highly recommended unless you want to get your feet wet or take the chance of falling on the rough volcanic terrain we often land on.
- During winter and on glacier landing tours it is especially important to wear good shoes since you’ll be walking on the snow.
- Sitting in our aircraft itself is not cold, it is similar to sitting in a car, so if your tour does not include a landing, a light jacket should be sufficient.
